Day Seventeen: Temperature drops 29 degrees

Woken by Gill in the bedroom doorway at 8.30am - "was that thunder?" she asked. "Was what thunder, when, I didn't hear anything?" Apparently there was a huge crack of thunder, which woke Gill, Phil and Suzie - who was sleeping under their bed and woken with a start, banged her head on the base of the bed.

With that, we all went back to bed and slept late.

When we finally rose it was much calmer, but still raining - and in sharp contrast to yesterday's 41º, it was a mere 12º.

This afternoon, went and had a look round La Souterraine, while Simon went for his driving lesson - I remembered one or two places from 10 years ago. Passed the bar on the way there and back, it's not changed much except for a paint job on the shutters.

Tea time saw another storm brewing, which carried on intermittently through the evening.

No pictures today - the lightning was too quick to capture, lol.
